Hello again! We are happy to announce that the Willowbrook Winter Guard is being recognized at the May 23 Board Meeting for their 2nd place finish in the Midwest Color Guard Circuit Finals! All members of the team are encouraged to attend the board meeting! The meeting will start at 7:30pm in the District Boardroom at 2 Friendship Plaza, Addison, IL 60101. I encourage the team to dress nice since we are being honored.
Hello! Our car wash has been approved and it will take place at the Villa Park VFW on June 18th. We are thinking of 11am-3pm. The car wash will be donations only, which always works out really well. I will need people to arrive around 10:30am and we need all the help we can get! Current/Past/New members are all welcome to come help out! Some things we need people to bring:
*Signs – To advertise by the street
*TOWELS – LOTS OF TOWELS – every year we run out of dry towels, you cannot bring too many towels!
*Any other car washing supplies
We will be bringing the soap for washing the cars.
Please talk to you parents because it would be nice if someone could bring some water, snacks, and sandwiches for us to eat around the 1pm timeframe. That being said, if we are busy, then we will take turns eating!
I hope it goes without saying that everyone should dress appropriately for the event. No bikinis, etc. Also feel free to advertise at school before the year is out!
Hello everyone! We have a lot of announcements today so please bare with us.
First thing is we wanted to post the info about the summer camp we send the captains to. The camp is hosted by Fred J. Miller Clinics and is at the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater. The clinic goes from July 24-27. The cost is $300 and that includes housing and meals while you are at the camp. Its a great camp and the girls have really enjoyed it in the past. You can sign up on their website here:
Their website also has more info if you have any questions.
If you have noticed, the camp above falls into flag camp at Willowbrook. With school starting so early this year, the two fell into each other and we did not notice until recently. Because of this, we are tentatively changing flag camp to July 28-30, probably from 9am-12pm. Newbie camp will stay July 28 because that is run by the band director. Again, everything is tentative until we get a better idea of what the new band director wants to do.
Please continue to check the site for updated info this summer!!! We will get the info out as soon as we have it!
Call time for Sunday is 10:15am for the parade wearing your blue polo and black pants. Feel free to wear gym shoes, but try to keep them neutral is possible.
We will be marching first in the parade.
I wanted to give you the times for Lilac Parade practices next week. Lilac Parade is open to all CURRENT color guard and winter guard members and you need to have the blue polo. Practices will be next week, Tuesday, May 10 from 3:15-6:00 and Thursday, May 12 from 3:15-4:30. They will correspond with the band practicing.
